Volume VI
"Whosoever believes in him would not perish, but have everlasting life" John 3:16

What do you get when you mix a nutcase that thinks he's Jesus Christ, 80+ rednecks, the ATF, a shitload of firearms, and Janet Reno in a little town called Waco.

ONE HELL OF A BONFIRE!!!

That was February 1993 and this is September 1999. Why am I bringing this up now you ask?

Well I'll tell you.

We are spending millions of our tax dollars to defend civil suit after civil suit for the survivors of the "tragedy."
(The only tragedy is that there is a Branch Davidian revival going on in Texas...somebody get me some matches)

David "Jesus Christ" Koresh and Texas gun dealer Henry McMahon (Koresh's business partner) were stockpiling firearms (AR-15 assault rifles, .50 caliber sniper rifles, etc.) Why they were stockpiling firearms is beyond me, but they're in Texas and I'm sure they had a good reason?

(Everyone needs a 32 lb rifle that can penetrate steel from distances up to a mile, especially if you have a gun rack and live in Texas)

The government saw this as a potential threat (I can't believe I'm actually defending the government) so they monitored the situation until it became necessary to intervene. Now the government (at our expense) has to defend their actions.

(My head is pounding at this particular moment)

It's not people like Koresh that worry me. There have always been insane people and there always will be. It's the people that follow these losers that baffle me.
What's even more distressing is that the families of these
people have the nerve to file wrongful death suits against the government.

(My blood pressure is going thru the roof)

Well guess what. Your little Johnny or Suzy would not be charbroiled if they had an ounce of common sense. Trust me, if Koresh was the #1 son he would've been living somewhere nicer than a tinderbox in Waco, not worn glasses, and been a better musician. There had to be something fundamentally wrong with the values that were taught to these "followers". Maybe we should sue the families of these people for costing us (the tax payers) millions of dollars monitoring and handling situations like Waco. It's their children that empower people like Koresh.

I'm appalled by the state of things and my head is about to explode.
(It just exploded)

I wonder who my parents can sue for that?

Somebody call Johnnie Cochran. We'll sue Chrysler and
Boycott their products. I'm sure they had something to do with this!

Well, the only thing everlasting is an endless trail of frivolous civil suits.

As my great uncle Mike once said, "The roof, the roof..."
I think you know the rest.

Until next time...
